FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. What size
router bit is required for your hinge template?
All of our templates are designed to use a
1/2” router bit on a 1/4” shank with a 5/8” ball bearing.
Q. What material are your hinge
templates made from?
All of our hinge templates are made from
ABS plastic reinforced with 25% fiberglass for strength. We make
the hinge templates out of ABS plastic because it is safer than
using a type of metal. If the router bit hits the template,
metal shavings will not be thrown into the air, and the router
bit will not shatter.
Q. What happens if I nick the
template with the router?
The guide area of the hinge template is
made of ABS plastic reinforced with 25% fiberglass. If nicked,
it may be patched with ABS pipe cement.
Q. Can I order replacement parts?
Certainly, you may request replacement
parts by calling, faxing, or emailing our office with the parts
you need.
Q. When I set the spacers for my hinge
size, why is the opening larger than the hinge?
For safety reasons, the spacers must be
set 1/8” larger than the hinge size. The 1/2” router bit with
5/8” ball bearing accounts for the larger opening in the
template guide.
Q. Where can I get more nails?
The nails used with the template are a
standard 3d box nail. These nails may be obtained from us, or
any local hardware store.
Q. What size hinges will your
templates accommodate?
Depending on the model purchased, the
templates will route any size hinge from 3/4” all the way up to
a 6” hinge. All models will also accommodate both a 1/4” and
5/8” radius.
Q. Do you accept credit cards?
We do not currently accept credit cards.
Our policy is to mail you the products along with a bill. You
